I love pens. I collect different kinds such as fountain pens, ballpoint pens, roller ball pens, and pencils. My taste is eclectic, ranging from cheap disposable ballpoint pens to antique ceramic fountain pens with nibs passed on through generations. My collection of wooden pens are quite impressive since it is my personal favorite. I favor the handcrafted and custom-made wooden pens where each is much different from the other even if the same kind of wood was used. The distinctive grain gives each one a characteristic look that is unlike another and there are various wood stains that can convert the wood to any color of your choice.
The kind of pens I buy depends on several things. I buy disposable ballpoint pens out of necessity and affordability. It is what I use for listing errands that I need to do for the day and I keep it in the pocket of my bag along with the car keys. I buy fountain pens for writing formal correspondence and sending out dinner invitations. Recipients of these invitations commented that they look professionally made. I buy wooden pens for writing on my journal or when I dabble in poetry. My wood pen is the one I have an affinity for. It is as if it is an extension of me when I use it. I truly believe that the pen is mightier than the sword since I feel purged whenever I use it to write my varied and heavy problems on the page.
